Garen is the University of Minnesota Extension Educator in Agricultural Business Management who leads the SW MN Farm Business Management Association. As part of our field staff, Garen does farm analysis and farm visits with members and also leads educational programs in collaboration with the Extension Ag Business Management team and the U's Center for Farm Financial Management.

Garen has bachelor's degrees in agronomy and economics from South Dakota State University and farms with his son north of Jackson, MN. Prior to becoming the association lead, he worked as a part-time contractor for the association for several years.
